#LIVETHERE
HAUS
Amplify & Airbnb create a behind-the-scenes Berlin, for locals + tourists alike...
Objective
Solution
Airbnb, the global online marketplace for lodging and travel experiences, aimed to redefine travel and encourage users to experience destinations like a local.
Experiential agency, Amplify, devised a strategy based around Berlin’s most prominent Airbnb users, creating the #LiveThere Haus - a physical space where these key influencers could share their stories of life in Berlin.
The #LiveThere campaign sought to promote the idea of authentic and unique travel experiences facilitated by Airbnb, emphasizing a departure from traditional tourist experiences.
The challenge for this event was to bring to life Airbnb's global #LiveThere campaign in a way that would strike a chord and strengthen their relationship with the local community and help to build a greater brand-following within the city.
The week-long event saw guests entering the space via an interactive, cardboard cityscape of archetypical Berlin landmarks, created by local art collective, 44flavours, aimed at mimicking the claustrophobic, tourist-filled atmosphere experienced by the average traveller.
This opened up to a homely, inviting space representing the true nature of Airbnb's #LiveThere campaign messaging. The space also played host to a carefully curated free program of live performances, talks and discussions, workshops, yoga and literary recitals.
